A New Movement
New Braamfontein Lofts have been developed to deliver on the needs and ideals of the individuals who will be living there. This is not just property development, but conscious creation to deliver homes where people will be proud to live.
The lofts offer state-of-the-art security for an inner-city development, but because residents work and live in the heart of Johannesburg, the development is integrated with the surrounding community. Surrounded by universities, galleries, shops and restaurants, New Braamfontein Lofts is a true participant in the inner city.
Ease of Access
New Braamfontein Lofts is nestled in between Braamfontein, Milpark, Melville, Brixton + Newtown, and is at the centre of an essential transport network. The precinct is in close proximity to the M1 highway, and the The Empire-Perth Corridor of Freedom has helped to connect these various prominent places in our city, including Braamfontein, Brixton, Fordsburg, Milpark and Melville, with New Braamfontein Lofts as a crucial node on this route through the city.
New Braamfontein is crucial element in the re-emerging cultural and educational hub of Johannesburg, establishing a space for young professionals who want to be an integral part of the inner city. The area is surrounded by learning institutions such as Wits, UJ, AFDA, IMM and Rosebank College. Added to this are the many cultural institutions such as the Wits Art Museum and Stevenson Gallery, Constitution Hill, Fietas Museum, Origins Centre and Johannesburg Theatre. Abundant entertainment and lifestyle options can be found at 44 Stanley, Neighbourgoods Market, Randsteam, Oriental Plaza and Newton Junction”.
The developers of New Braamfontein lofts are actively engaging with the existing residents of Braamfontein to offer benefits for the broader community. They are collaborating with various different agencies and institutions including the Johannesburg Development Agency, Fietas Museum, PRASA, Johannesburg Property Company and other organisaitons to create an uplifted and inclusive suburb for all.
Peace of Mind
With safety and security as a priority, the development offers 24-hour security, CCTV and state-of-the-art biometric access-controlled entrances and exits to both the precinct and each building.
Comfort in Community
We are creating a community of like-minded individuals who are encouraged to share the use of various on-site and surrounding amenities. The green belt, a treasured rarity for inner-city living, acts as the point of connection for all the residents across the site. This feature aims to soon host a running track, picnic areas, a coffee spot, children’s play areas, outdoor gyms, braai areas, and communal spaces where people can connect and interact.
The entire development has been constructed with the principle of “adaptive reuse” – using an existing building for a completely new purpose – in mind.
In light of this, recycling of existing materials on site has been a key part of the project since its inception. Recovered materials have been given a new purpose, with minimal waste created during construction. Reused concrete, salvaged bricks and extracted reinforcing were used as the base for structure, while refurbished window panes, stone and wood all found a new home.
